In the first half of last year, I built the virtual set extensions for the BBC’s Commonwealth Games studio, in Birmingham. The design was a collaboration with Toby Kalitowski, and went on air in July 2022.
No greenscreen or keying was required for this setup, as the virtual extension and physical studio were carefully designed so that the virtual elements could function in an area of the studio – the rear, and ceiling – where no presenters would appear in front of it. The
